Fishing & Kayaking... in Bhutan
Trout Fishing - Bhutan’s rivers are teeming with both Brown and Rainbow Trout and have virtually never been fished. Recent negotiations have paved the way for us to now offer Trout fishing, as part of a standard Bhutan travel package, and permits will be arranged for a small additional fee. This facility is available to bone fide tourists only and on a catch and release basis only.
Trout fishing is permitted in the following months:
* March to May inclusive.
* September to October inclusive.
Other months are
unavailable due to weather and conservation requirements. Both Fly fishing and
Thread-line fishing are possible. You can bring your own tackle or it can be
hired locally for a small fee.
Kayaking - Winter is the best time to Kayak in Bhutan. That is the months from late November to early March. Two Kayaking options can be included in a standard Bhutan travel package.
Option 1: Kayak and Camp.
* Nights spent in tented accommodation for duration of Kayaking component.
Option 2: Kayak and Hotel.
* Recommended where possible due to overnight temperatures.
Important notes on Kayaking: You will be required to sign a liability waver when undertaking a Kayaking component. Previous Kayaking experience is strongly recommended. A minimum number of 6 is required for any Kayaking excursion. Choose your duration from 1 day to 2, 3 or 4 days depending on the river. The Kayaks and associated equipment will be carried on a separate Truck. Additional costs to transport and hire of Kayaking equipment will apply. We will quote you these costs on application.
