Latest Statement from Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) which we believe all prospective Bhutan travellers would be wise to consider:

After a 2011 survey of international visitors to Bhutan the TCB advises: “19% of respondents acknowledged to having paid less the the prescribed daily tariff. The report points out the practise leads to unsatisfied customers and that speculations prevail that tour operators who undercut provide sub-standard services and facilities to their clients.”

Greetings all,

The recent earthquake centered in Sikkim, India, also affected parts of Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan.

We have remained in constant communications with both our Bhutan ground operator (BTCL) and the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) and the good news is there is no major disruption to tourist visitor travel and it’s business as usual in the Kingdom.

Please proceed with your Bhutan planning and arrangements with confidence.

Sadly one person in Bhutan died and a number of homes were damaged in the remote valley of Haa and immediate surrounding areas. There were also a number of landslides that have or are being cleared. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all affected.
